My impression of them is that they are very good but, not particularly reminiscent of any vintage sound. Not everyone is looking for that. Danny Gatton used them in vintage teles. They seem to have a nice fat (hum cancelling?) kinda clean sound. Fralin makes all kinds of good pickups. If you are looking for more output, I would advise to give the benefit of the doubt to higher instead of lower with his pickups as what may be described as a loud or high output rating might be about one notch shy of what you really want. In other words if he offers three stregths, and yer not goin' for the weakest one, go two higher, not one. That's relative and just an observation but, he is a good guy who makes good stuff! WW

They sound much better live than in your bedroom. What tone are you looking for? As Webb says, Fralin is very good. The Harmonic Design Vintage Plus are currently my favorite Tele pup. Also check out the new Bill Lawrence L-45s for strats. A great "Semi-Vintage" sounding pups that is a bargain.

Apparently, there's a little blip of time between the old vintage handwired ones and the non hand wired ones that suck WHERE THE AMPS STILL SOUNDED GOOD.. Mine didn't leave the factory point to point but, it does retain the cool, old, second generation circuit commonly refrerred to aS THE "HIGH GAIN" MODEL. rEALLY JUST A LITTLE GAINiER THAN THE 1ST GENeRATION. nOT REALLY A HIGh GAIN AMP. ANYWAY, THE TRANSFORMERS AREN'T THE ONES (pARTRIDGE?) THAT CAME IN THE ORIGINALsWHICH MAY AND SURELY DOES AFFECT THE SOUND SOME AS WELL. i'VE HAD THE AMP FOR YEARS. i THINK IT'S A 1985. YEARS AGO IT CAUGHT FIRE! tHE DAMAGED SECTION WAS REBUILT POINT TO POINT BY dAVE sUTHERLAND WHO HAD "BLUEPRINTED" THE CIRCUITS OF ALL THE OLD, rEEVES ERA gEORGIA SATELLITES AMPS. aNYWAY, i ALWAYS USE cELESTION SPEAKERS OR SOME VARIATION OF (wEBER, sCUMBACK) AND i DON'T TURN THE MASTER PAST 9 O'CLOCK. I THEN DIAL IN AS MUCH PRE-AMP VOLUME AS THE STAGE/ROOM WILL TAKE WITH THE PRESENCE ON ABOUT FIVE O'CLOCK WITH THE BASS, TREBLE AND MIDDLE AT ABOUT 9 O'CLOCK. wITH A HOTTER THAN AVERAGE TELE PICKUP HITTIN' THE FRONT END OF THE AMP OR ANY KIND OF fILTERTRON, HUMBUCKER OR p-90, IT YiELDS KIND OF A mID-aTLANTIC, vOX ON STEROIDS KINDA TONE. nOW, IF i COULD ONLY LEARN TO PLAY...tHANKS! ww P. S. the shift key is out to get me!

They have a VERY complete line extending all the way from the basic, through the Antiquity lstuff and even the Custom shop. Now they're making stomp boxes, too. Heard some good things about the Antiquity tele pickups the other day, BTW. WW

I replaced the bridge pickup in a Mexican Tele with a "Little'59 for Tele" and it sounded really good. It was a stacked humbucker which fit in the same space as the original, so no routing was needed. I actually sold that guitar for more than I paid for it after having played it for 7 years, and the new owner loves it.
