Webb ROCKS! | part 2 Heck, just when I was complaining real good about the weather up here in Illinois, I get off work, drive 22 miles in that stuff, just to get home to a town with no power, and almost dark outside. Had to hunt up a few candles and a flashlight while I still could see, and lit the place up, only to see that my gas/CO monitor was freaking out, beeping "GAS! GAS! GAS!" and scarinig my poor little sno'cone-loving dog out of her mind. The big boy, however, was wonderin' what all the fuss was about. So I ripped the thing off the wall, but it wouldn't quit beeping, until I got the batteries out, but the mood was history,as far as dear little Molly was concerned.
And, not being really prepared for such a possibility, I had no propane space heater (until I go shopping tonite!) and we were stuck for it. Resulting in one frozen lady, and two dogs going to sleep in a big pile, coats and blankets and all, at 5pm. Luckily, the power came on at 8:30, and we survived, no frozen water pipes or anything, though the power was off for more than 8 hours total. And poor little Molly is just coming out of her beeping-induced freakout state of shock, and honestly. may never be quite the same.
And that, my friends, is an example of why I'm burnt out on the weather so early in the season. Anybody need a dog? |
