Subject: Sonny Landreth interview
Sitting here with no gas in ATL, cooking some chili and beef stock, listening to It Came From Nashville and reading the Sonny Landreth interview in this month's Premier Guitar magazine.

He is talking about his new album and mentions his new producer....one R.S Fields. Good job. I can't wait to hear it.

Webb, any chance Sonny is showing up on the new album?

See you guys in Macon!!

Would be great but, I suspect his cameo on the "Doo Dad" album will be his everlasting sole Wilderian contribution. The album that just came out a coupla months ago with Clapton, Knopfler, etc. is to my knowledge the first one R. S. hasn't been involved in. He's worked on quite a few of them. Maybe there's another yet to be released one in the works but, I don't know about it. WW

I stand corrected. I read the inference wrong. He was talking about a 1990 album. You sent me pulling Doo Dad back out again to reread the liner notes. I see Sonny wrote "Landlord", is that him playing the main riff as well?

Thanks for setting me straight. Again.

No, that'sDdonny Roberts playing a 1960 Les Paul Jr. tuned to open A (A flat?) That riff is either just like Sonny's original demo or derived from it. We learned the song from Sonny's demo. He recorded and released the song right after that on his "Outward bound" album. I THINK "Doo Dad" came out in '91 so "Outward Bound" probably didn't come out 'til at least then or possibly '92. Sonny sings on the chorus on the "Doo Dad" version. WW
