Subject: Late Kingsport Review
Sorry for the late entry regarding the Kingsport show...... I've seen you guy's at Down Home for many, many years. I'll have to say that all of you took it to the next level playing outdoors. I've always felt that you all were probably constrained a bit doing the small Down Home venue. When I saw the HiWatt, I knew that this night was going to be special!! You could have spread the reverb with a knife when Bob fell into "Jimmy Reed Is the King of R&R"!! I think Bob's "settling in"!! I brought some drummers I make music with in the area, telling them that they had to see this show. Jimmy was phenomenal!! I know you guy's can't get the full feel of the mix of what folks are hearing out front, but after the first couple of tunes (once they got you dialed in) Tom's bass and Jimmy's drums put a groove down Center Street that no paver will ever smooth out!! I sat in line with Webb's (The Tone Kings) HiWatt...You talk about cutting the mix with tone, tone, tone!!!! (Bet the ole EL34's were a glowin'!!) Webb, Bob, Jimmy, Tom - you guy's ROCK!!!!! Please come back to Kingsport again. For gearheads like myself, it's always a treat to hear you guy's. It was like a block party for several of us, reuniting with old friends to see "The Webbster"!!! - JoeTheFenderDude -
