That Bob Williams is doing so well with the band, I'd hate to see him go. I really like Tony Bowles but "what about Bob?" He has earned a slot with the Beatnecks!

I have felt that way about so many Nashvegans and Beatnecks. Webb really has a knack for workin' with some real troupers. Fine humanoids and exceptional musicians one and all.

I will not start naming those I have known, or I might start gettin' all again! (Too much bad mojo this week already.)

For the record, I'm looking forward to meetin' you in person too, Bob!

I've always been impressed with the guys Webb has recruited for lead guitar duties ... while they've each had distinctive talents - and personalities :-) - they've had one thing definitely in common ... helping make a WW show one fine musical experience.

BTW, Webb, do you recall who would've been your lead guitarist at Be Here Now in Asheville about 12 years back?

One thing is for certain, Webb dont ask no scrappy ol pseudo-musician to become a Beatneck. If you havent heard Bob Williams play yet, then you have missed out on a real treat. The man knows his stuff when it comes to the guitar; therefore, you are guaranteed to not be disappointed when you do hear him. As for Tony Bowles, anyone who has been no more than just half-conscious while visiting this board knows how partial I have been when it comes to the guy. However, changes occur, whether they are brought on by decisions or circumstances. Wherefores arent important. What is important is the here and now. What Webb has in Bob Williams is an amazingly talented guitarist who is dedicated to the music, the band, and the fans and who has certainly earned a slot with the Beatnecks (T. Bodine 2008). A better question than Where is Tony? and When is Tony coming back? is How soon do I get the privilege of hearing Bob Williams play? When you do hear Bob, there will be no regrets. I promise!

Making a living as a working musician is a hard road to hoe. You have to take the gigs that are available and talented folks like Webb has for his band are in demand and sometimes it makes it hard to coordinate schedules. I'm sure Webb thanks his lucky stars that he has a great pool of musicians to draw from when he needs to do a gig.

I like all the band incarnations I have seen back to Twangler and that era. Bob is a great guitarist. I wish I had the talent of his pinky in my index finger. Any of them can grace my eardrums anytime Webb is at the forefront. I would still pay if Webb was doing acoustic duets with Zamfir.

I don't know what happened to the punctuation marks in my post. It seems that the gods of grammar granted the rest of you the power to wield punctuation. I just know that when I hit the button to submit, I received some sort of message about unusual marks. I looked at the message and noticed that my quotes around the questions were gone. I clicked the button to post, and when my message appeared, all apostrophes and quotation marks were gone. Who knows?

This is only my guess, of course, but did you happen to edit your message elsewhere, then paste your creation in here? That is a known problem. Other editors don't always play nice. However, if you actually type it in the "Your Message" box, it should come through OK.

Bob Williams is a pretty big boy. Personally, I'd put money on him over George. Although, George looks pretty fast.

Mo: I think if Webb were to play in some rough bars (like the upcoming Easy Rider Rodeo show) he might be able to use us as "stunt guitar pickers" to take a beating while the rest of the band actually plays music.

Susan: I think they use different punctuation up in Wisconsin. They use primarily Viking Runes and other Scandanavian symbols rather than good old hillbillybonics symbols.

Word replaces certain punctuation characters with 8-bit versions that tend to screw up a lot of things when that data is copied and pasted. You'll see that a lot if you ever copy text from a web page and try to paste it in a post here.
