Well, I think you must be talking about a Gibson Trini Lopez Deluxe (formerly owned by Rick Nielson) that was a custom color(sparkling burgundy metallic) which had faded and changed to a kind of burnt orange. I believe it was a 1967. Sold it years ago. There were two different Trini Lopez models. One looks like an ES 335 with a six on a side headstock and diamond shaped instead of f-holes, the other (like the one I had) is more like a "Trini-ized" Gibson Barney Kessell. Gene Cornish of The Young Rascals always played Barney Kessells. WW.

I wasn't aware that Gibson had made a Trini Lopez signature model ! Very cool looking guitar ...which of course explains why you owned one...

Thanks Webb !

Well, thanks. Yeah, they made two different ones! ? Guess "Lemon Tree" was a big deal, huh? FYI, Gibson is now making a guitar very reminiscent of the Trini Lopez Standart. It's the Dave Grohl signature model. WW

"If I Had A Hammer" was very good to Trini, too. I love ES-335's, but my wife loves food, clothing and shelter.

Your Wife should stop being so selfish and get a second job so you can have those neccesitites like an ES-335.

I can't even afford to pickup any drapes myself. Tie-dye sheets work great, though.

In 1965 (the year they started really crankin' out Trini Standards) Gibson reduced their traditional 1 and 11/16ths (since returned to it) nut width to 1 and 9/16ths on most if not all of their models. It's pretty tight in the first position for a number of years there. Fender may be (often, certainly not always) skinnier higher on the neck but, to answer your question..."more so." WW
