Ho! Ho! Ho! Man, I love Memphis! I always call it the "Holy City (worlds of respect to New Orleans!) of Rock and Roll," AND me n' the guys will be there this Thursday night (12/20/2018) at Lafayette's Music Room. We'll be starting our set at 8:15pm. Mark Edgar Stuart opens around 7pm.

Lafayette's has great food, drink sound and seating, so, come on and honor the legacy of this great city with some Rock n' Roll!

In radio land news... The List returns this week at wmot.org and/or 89.5 FM, hosted as per usual by yours truly. But this week, we begin a three-part series featuring WMOT's top Americana albums from 2018. The List airs at 2pm Central on Fridays, and again at 7am Central on Saturdays. It is a two hour program. Should you want to check it out at a later date, just go to wmot.org and pick "roots radio replays" from the menu.


Well, there's Memphis this week, then The Olde Feed Store in Cobden, IL on 12/28, followed by Fitzgerald's in Chicago on 12/29. That will wrap up a Wilder year, in which we saw the release of "Powerful Stuff" chosen by Rev. Keith Gordon as one of his top picks for reissue stuff in 2018.

"If you don't have a good time listening to a Webb Wilder album, then you've probably assumed room temperature. Sure, Powerful Stuff! is an "odds 'n' sods" collection culled from Wilder's archives, but the material is delivered with every bit the same level of energy and commitment as anything that Webb has previously put on record. For those of us who became fans with Wilder's It Came From Nashville LP, Powerful Stuff! is yet another welcome addition to the (slowly-growing) Webb Wilder canon. As the man says, "work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard, grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em." Amen... BUY!"
