Rain, rain, rain. Whatcha gon' do? Weeeeeellllll, I suggest comin' on out to Puckett's Grocery in downtown Franklin, TN this Saturday night, 2/23/19, to see and hear what I guess we will call The Dubya Dubya Dew-O? That's yours truly and the irrepressible Tom Comet, who will be playin' bass and singin' harmony. We do this every once in a while and it's always fun. They have GREAT food there, too. The Duo format is probably the one we invoke the least often, which makes it even more special. We STRONGLY encourage you to call Puckett's for reservations as space is limited, and well, that's just the way they roll. Give 'em a buzz at (615) 794-5527. Show time will be 8:30pm. Speaking of T-shirts! The special Outlaw Country Cruise T-shirt we did proved so popular, that they are all gone! SO, we have decided to use the same artwork sans the OCC 411 to become our latest sartorial offering with the added touch of "Webb Wilder & the Beatnecks" inscribed therein on the ever-popular depictions of the UFOs which have hounded me since childhood!!
Both T-shirts were designed by our very own multi- and uber-talented Tom Comet. Not only THAT, but this will be the first time that the word "Beatnecks" has been on a shirt in a while!
Always thought it was a cool name, and of course, now we're stuck with it, but "it haven't been easy," what with everyone from managers to devoted fans getting the name WRONG for two or three decades! It's NECKS not NICKS!!!!
Anyway, this shirt should help as it has the correct spelling of the aforementioned combeaux. I know. That's what we get for being "schmarhtty pants" in the first place. We should have called the band "The Acme Players" or something.
We hope to have the shirts on-hand by Saturday night, and debut them at Puckett's. As soon as possible, we'll have 'em up on WebbWilder.com too, so keep an eye out for that.
Whassup in radio land? Well, The List: The Americana Chart Show, on WMOT Roots Radio, will air at its usual times of 2-4pm Central on Friday, and 7-9am Central on Saturday. It's on 89.5 on your radio (in Middle Tennessee at least), or listen live at wmot.org anywhere in the world!
