As a fan of Webb (enthusiastically awaiting the new CD), John Fogerty, Dave Edmunds, The Blasters, etc., I sometimes find it difficult to find the guitar driven music that appeals to my taste. Have any of you found any music lately that you think might appeal to the Webb Wilder fan base. As for myself, I've been a huge fan of the Blasters since their days back in L.A. in the late 70s, and Dave/Phil Alvin's new CD "Common Ground" is outstanding. It's loaded with great blues tunes by Big Bill Broonzy, and Phil's vocals are outstanding. I'm also really enjoying Tom Petty's new CD, "Hypnotic Eye" which showcases Tom's rocking side. If you are into some of the rockabilly stuff, you might want to take a look at JD McPherson's CD, "Signs and Signifiers".

Since then, anything associated with Dan Baird usually hits the spot. The Yayhoos, "Fear not the Obvious" has stood the test of time.(Don't be put off by the Track Listing) Recently, Tater Bodine called my attention to "Big Head Todd & the Monsters" and I'm lovin'em. Rev Peytons Big Damn Band put in a fantastic show I caught in Belfast recently. I've never seen a Washboard ignoted before 'a'la' Jimi. Great Tunes and great fun

Jack White may be an acquired taste for some, but he and Brendan Benson combine to produce some interesting and varied material here. The bass and drums are great, too- this record rocks.

Or The Flamin' Groovies. I could go on and on but I think all of these folks have at least some qualities that WW fans would like.
