Subject: R.I.P. Levon Helm
This really hit me in the gut. Levon was simply an amazing musician and person. He will be greatly missed.

Unbelievable natural talent: drumming, singing, acting, narration... all world class, one of a kind AND he wasn't a bad mandolin player! Lord knows what all he did and what all he could do but, as the story goes, he played the cool dropped D-tuning rhythm guitar on "Rag, Mama Rag" on "The Band" by The Band.http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-levon-helm-20120420,0,2779003.story?page=2 Here's a real good piece from the LA Times

I just heard yesterday that he was in the final stages of throat cancer, but I hoped he would have some more time. R.I.P.
