Subject: RIP Ronnie Montrose

I saw this on Facebook this morning; Ronnie Montrose died yesterday after a long battle with prostate cancer:

Ronnie was one of my favorites. He played with some of the greats including Herbie Hancock and Van Morrison, got the spotlight with Edgar Winter, and then went on to a solo career with the band of his own name with Sammy Hagar on vocals. I still remember buying that one and hearing the opening to "Rock the Nation"; what an album.

RIP Ronnie.
