Yeah one of the leading scientists in the "CSI" industry runs that down there at UT Knoxville. Living in E TN I have heard of it many times. And while it does a lot for criminal research and crime scene studies.... it's still kinda creepy.

Woot! Body Farm! I have read several books by the founder of the body farm at UT: Dr. William Bass. I heard a lecture by Dr. Bass when I was in college umpteen years ago. Anyway, the farm is actually very near the football stadium, I believe. I am about 99% certain that that is where I want my body to go when I die, but Tony doesn't quite go for that idea. I told my sister Beth that's what I want, so maybe it will happen. However, I don't think she gets it, either, because all she said in response to my request to make sure it happens is, "So you want your body to go to the funny farm, right?" I can't win.

About the body farm: http://web.utk.edu/~fac/default.html

You can find Dr. Bass's books on Amazon. Fascinating stuff. He also attended the exhumation of the Big Bopper at the request of JP Richardson's son. Bass was able to examine the body and determine more about the injuries Richardson suffered in the plane crash that also killed Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens.

And I forgot to also include that the offices for the Forensic Anthropology Center are located underneath the football stadium. Neyland Stadium isn't just for pom pom shaking and pretty faces. It's also for the bones and muscles and brains behind the pretty faces!

That is certainly interesting. I am an organ donor, but beyond that, I am thinking of a nice relaxing becoming one with the earth. Not into the whole roadtrip thang. Or not knowing where a piece of me might Pop up. Superstitious, hell, yeah! Frankenstein made an impression on me.

I found this short video about the body farm. It isn't for those who are squeamish to the highest degree. You do get to see inside the body farm--and learn about skin slippage!

Here is an interesting article that came out in the local paper just this weekend. It's more about the body farm.
