On page 18 of the April Vintage Guitar magazine is the following item:
MISSISSIPPI HONORS WILDER
Roots rocker Webb Wilder was inducted into the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame on January 18.
Born John McMurry, the 56-year old singer, guitarist, songwriter, and filmmaker (and one of satellite radio's first deejays) is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His blend of rockabilly, blues, honky-tonk, introspective ballads, and British Invasion comes to a head in his pull-out-the-stops live shows-never lacking a healthy dose of irreverent humor (the Wilder credo: "Work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard. grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em.").
He will be joining such illustrious inductees as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Jimmy Reed, Charlie Pride, Marty Stuart, the Staple Singers, Mose Allison, Robert Johnson, Bo Diddley, Ike Turner, and Elvis Presley, as well as his uncle and aunt, Willard and Lillian McMurry, who founded Trumpet Records (the label that produced Elmore James' original recording of "Dust My Broom" and Sonny Boy Williamson's "Eyesight To The Blind").
Wilder's most recent CD is More Like Me.

Always nice to see Webb appreciated in print.

Very nice of them to do that. I love everything about it. I just wish journalists would mention (they probably don't know) that the more complete truth is that I was "born" John WEBB McMurry, son of Webber, nephew of Willard, rightful lord of Toomsuba! Well, Toomsuba has no formal chain of nobility as such but, you know... WW

Very cool that they gave your Hall of Fame induction a mention. I sure would like to see them print an article about you, your music, and your GUITARS (and other gear).

Do you still have that cool green Rearview? Is George still making them?

George is not (to my knowledge) currently making the Rearviews but, the green one I owned now resides in the collection of one Tom Comet. WW

Glom, I think Vintage Guitar did a nice feature on Webb back when About Time was released.

I remember an album review of "More Like Me", but I didn't have my VG subscription when "About Time" was released. If they did a good feature on Webb, I'd sure like to see it. I guess I'll have to investigate their back issues ad.
