Wow. You mention Stanley Unwin (rest in peace, Stanley) and, indirectly, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. Who else would do that?!

I have the LP in all its bizarre sleeve glory, an 8-track, a cassette, and two CDs (to make sure I never am without.)

I have the LP, the CD and a special "tin" cannister/boxed kinda set with mini discs! I am an incurable Small Faces fan. You probably know we did "My Mind's Eye" on "Town and Country," right? Then there's the Stewart/Woody era Faces of which I'm as big or bigger fan. "It's all too beautiful..."WW

I have the LP and the CD of Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. It tells a fine story about a guy named Happiness Stan. I am told that the LP with its strangely different type of cover is now worth a few bucks.

The first issue of it probably is. I belonged to a British mail order record club in high school. Tried to order it then but, it must have just gone out of print or something. It has since reisssued in a number of different packages including (I think the round cover) but, that first one (super cool) may not have lasted long. Just read an old interview with the great Glyn Johns who engineered it. He thought it would be bigger in America than it was. He blamed it's failure on the packaging although he really liked the sleeve.. "They couldn't very well rack it." WW

I worked in a record store in Montgomery, Alabama around '73-'74. I ordered the LP then. No idea if it's worth anything and I wouldn't part with it anyway. I can't recall if we kept it in stock, but I quickly got to where I was allowed to order a lot of obscure and semi-obscure stuff, so we may have had it. Webb, I love the Faces, too. Lotta good-time music packed into their albums.

I miss the oddball packaging of LPs. Family had an album called 'Fearless' which had a very expensive to produce cover. I guess with the record industry in the shape it's in...and the need to preserve some trees...we won't see any innovative sleeves again.
