We used to do an old song of his called "I Got A Hole In My Pocket." It was recorded way back in '85 or '86 (whenever the live Exit/In stuff was recorded that's on "ICFN") but sat in the can until we released the "Full Grown Edition" around 2004 or so. He is the real deal. Long live Tater1 WW

Webb, an early Merry Christmas to you. I think I've told you this story, but long before you appeared at the Green River Catfish Festival in Morgantown KY in 97, Little Jimmy Dickens headlined that show in about 84 or 85. I was lucky enough to be asked to emcee that show and spent the better part of a hot July afternoon holed up in an un-airconditioned trailer with him and Skeeter Davis, (she opened) listening to them exchange war stories. They played tag, telling one story after another about their various travails around the world playing music. I was just a fly on the wall and it changed the way I looked at "STARS" forever. I'm sure you have your share of stories, too. A book, maybe someday?

Skeeter was somethin' else and a proud daughter of Kentucky as well. Many years ago I was in a band called the Drapes. We opened for Rick Nelson and his band on the riverboat (S S. President?) in New Orleans. After the show, we rushed to Tipitina's to see Skeeter with NRBQ. It was there show and she just came up for a few songs. Really cool though and the first time I saw the Q. An odd fact known by few: Little Jimmy dicekens was the first artist to wear a Nudie suit on the Opry stage. As for the book, my ADD(or is it just B. S.?) keeps me from "TCB" a lot of the time so, we'll have to see. Fa la la la la la la la la! WW

My Brother took my Mom and Dad to see the Opry several years back. Mom joked she probably would only get to see Little Jimmy Dickens. Well sure enough he was the host of the show that night and she had a great time..take an old cold tater and sleep at the foot of the bed...
