Just in the past few weeks in the news, stories of a stage collapse in Canada and one being built for Madonna; In your travels have you ever encountered an "unsound" stage?

Yeah, we've had a few lately. One in NC was really shaky and uneven, so you had to place gear carefully and find a stable place to stand. Fortunately it was only about a foot off the ground! A couple of weeks ago, we had a tent that was so low Bob and Webb couldn't stand up under it; they had to get the tent guys back out there to jack it up!
For my money, the stage at Altamont in the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" was one of the scariest things I've ever seen- two feet off the ground separated from 100,000 people by Hells' Angels "security". A pinnacle of poor planning....
