Okay! What a night. A sparcly packed house but everyone there has been waiting to see Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks since about 1985 or so.

Hey! Dave and Shirley have just missed dates cuz of work schedules and stuff. Can I say......they had a great time.

Webb and the Beatnecks did not fail to blow the roof off of Mojo's and I have to say that the Opening Band was a equally as entertaining. I would love to see them in Kansas City...

Okay. Here's the setlist:

Big Time
Human Cannonball
Rough Rider
The Only One
Pretty Little Lights of Town
Too Cool For Love
Slow Death
Lookin' for a Fool
Still Water
She's Not Romantic
Pretty Is
Don't Slander Me
Sudden Stop
Loud Music
Come Around
Changing Colors
Ju Ju Man
HooDoo Witch
Mississippi Honky Tonkin'
Tough It Out

There were some deviations so don't quote me on this.

I had a great time in Columbia. Great to meet so many good people. I'll be back.

Only 2 hours to Kansas City.
See ya' there.

Got back on the computer for the first time today.

Mojo's was quite the interesting place. It was nice to meet you MB! Glad to see you made it back to KC safe and sound.

And it is always great to catch one of my favorite group of musicians. Thanks fellas! You guys always rock!

Thought I'd include a link to a nice little write-up from the Columbia Tribune:

Right back at ya' !

Nice write up, too. Webb mentioned that there was an article in Columbia. Thanks for sharing.

I would have loved to spend more time in Columbia but I knew traveling early was the way to go with the heat & humidity growing as the day wore on. "Mad dogs & Englishmen" and all that ya' know. I got home before noon and napped during the heat of the day getting ready for Knucklehead's.

You should Yahoo Map Bowling Green, Ky and see if Webb Fan Fest IV may be in your future.

Hey MotherBear, how was the Regency?
I'm sure we will end up staying there some day...

MB. It was great to meet you. Shirley and I really enjoyed ourselves. I am never caught at a loss of words but when the WEBB walked onto the patio I was speachless. Hum!

Hope to see you again at another WEBB showing.

merlesboy- I'm glad that I was there to share the experience. It is so great to meet people that you feel like they could be from your hometown and have finally been able to see Webb Wilder & the Beatnecks LIVE. That's why I visit this site so often. For me every show is like a class/family reunion. Whether I can attend or not, I love hearing about the shows and what's going on.

TommyLee-The Regency is definitely an older hotel but the staff are nice and the place is clean. If you are going to "The District" it is nice to just walk out of the place and stroll around. There are places that are less expensive closer to I-70 but you'd have to take a taxi or deal with parking. It really depends on where you are going and what you want to do. There are many hole in the wall places that are worth exploring such as a French Bistro, reasonably priced. Pork tenderloin & cottage fries at Willie's next to the Regency was delightful. Jimmy John's stays open until 3:00 am. My only complaint about the Regency is that the air conditioning/thermostat was either totally on or off. I moved it up to 80 and the thing kept blowing cold air and was loud. Great if you have some other source of body heat but for us singles, not so much. Go downstairs for coffee because the coffee maker in the room would not make coffee fit to drink. TV good, microwave good, refrigerator good, shower good (lots of hot water & clean), bed comfortable. Computer available to patrons. Great for instantaneous postings to the WebbBoard.
