In no particular order I like: Topper, Tomorrow, It's A Wonderful Life, Night of the Hunter, Tombstone, The Wizard of Oz Lonsome Dove (yes, I'm calling it a movie) Will Penny, Beetlejuice, Being There, Lost In Translation, Sideways, The Missing, The Searchers, Arsenic and Old Lace. I know Jimmy really likes That Thing You Do. It is cool. The Velvet Goldmine is a real interesting, arty film about the Glam Rock scene of the early 70's? Supposedly, a thinly veiled look at the relationship and rivalry between Iggy Pop and David Bowie. I found myself really enjoying "Stoned," the Brian Jones biopic. I just saw Last Chance Harvey. I know I'm supposed to like it which makes me not want to BUT, I like it! It's more of a documentary but, that End of the Century Ramones thing is really interesting. Oh yeah, Seabiscuit is a good old fashioned film that came out in recent years. the Rocker is goofy but, Rainn Wilson is so funny. Worth seeing. Lastly, I'll mention What Just Happened with Robert Deniro. WW

Like Hunter said too many to mention

Comedies-
Blazing Saddles
Caddyshack
Young Frankenstein
16 Candles, Breakfast Club, Christmas Vacation, Planes, Trains & Automobiles - all John Hughes comedies around that time

For Drama-
Shawshank and The Green Mile both great Stephen King adaptations
Pulp Fiction

Westerns -
Unforgiven
Tombstone
My Name is Nobody

Sci Fi / Horror-
The Thing (Kurt Russell remake)
all the Romero Zombie flicks & sequels
Star Wars (Empire Strikes Back is my fav)

Action-
The Dark Knight / Batman Begins
Indiana Jones movies - liked them all last one is mostly ok
Point Break - I don't like Keaneu or Swayze but fun to watch
(the original the fast & the furious to me is a remake of Point Break with cars instead of surfing but not as good)

Sports-
The Natural
Bull Durham
Tin Cup
Major League

And as Tony knows and we agree on - gotta put "Smokey & The Bandit" in there somewhere.

Oh good grief - I could go on and on too... and still leave out a bunch

Wierd. I've not had a history of being a movie watcher, but lately I've been giving it a try. So strange then, that last night I watched Last Chance Harvey, and never would have suspected it would turn up on this thread! I kinda liked it.

But I'm printing this topic out, so I can use it to pick more movies, having all been recommended by The Master and his Loving Public! Pretty much, most movies are new to me, given my history of avoidance.

I have to put up a new avatar. This little pooch just got her summer haircut, and she looks more like a chiahuahua with a facial hair problem now.
