It does have an Arts & Crafts look which derived from Art Noveau, the style that was the basis for much of the psychedelic poster art in the 60s. So hopefully it's vaguely swampedelic!

Linda, I'm sure you already know all this, I'm sure but maybe others do not, so I'll explain a bit.
Several years ago, one of the slow songs that Webb played regularly in concert was "California Stars." I always liked the rendition, and about that time I was working on a graphic refresh of the site. That idea, juxtaposed with the "spacy" overtones like the WW logo in orbit over the red planet menu, alien-green glows in strategic places, etc., led to the creation of the site's present look, which I call the "California Stars Theme."
A couple of years ago, the flash-free slideshow was added, and we update the pics periodically to keep them interesting.
And last year we finally abandoned the original, slanted "World Wide" and "Webb Wilder" graphics that were a carryover from before I assumed operations of the site in 2003. Those were first used way back when it was "very green and checkerboardy" looking, which was the original design theme from approximately 1996. That was replaced with Webb's name in the "About Time" stylized typeface, which wasn't a font typeface at all, but art rather scanned directly from the album.
Finally, this week Webb/Tom/Nancy suggested new ones rendered in Desdemona, so I did that, replacing the AT-stylized version.
There ya go, a brief history of WW.com's welcome page typefaces and some design background. omatic

The kids tore off that part of the stickynote pad. I think that it was Eccentric Std. Go to My Computer/Control Panel/Fonts and check it out. I love that art deco/art neuvou look.
The crazy eyeballs remind me of the ying-yang sign. But that's just me. The spheres are like planets swirling around in a universal way. Sort of a tripy, swampadelic type of thing with a "Day of the Dead" skull influence. Grateful Dead came to mind right away.
Lucky folks east of the Mississippi. I'm glad that I preordered my copy to hold me over to the Knuckleheads show. (By the time Webb & the Beatnecks get here they may have t-shirts.)
