The Cramps were about the only band delving back into Rockabilly in the late 70s in an authentic way and making it relevant to their time & lives. The subsequent explosion of Rockabilly that began in the 80s (and hasn't really stopped) probably has a lot to do with their influence. Their canon is resplendent with ribald and sybaritic originals rubbing shoulders with obscure covers.
