Hey Webb, great job on Bob & Tom. Loved the new tunes. Hope someone posts a recording of the interview.

That was great!
Webb did his usual fine job with the amusing banter, got in several plugs for the new DVD, mentioned the upcoming CD and this weekend's shows. He sang three songs (Pretty Is, TCB Blue Yodel #2 and a brand new one) and was on the air for almost an hour (with breaks, of course). Lots of fun and excellent national exposure to the Loving Public.
Bob & Tom obviously like and respect Webb. My opinion of those guys went up about 1000%.

I don't care if they do like Webb, I can't stand listening to the Bob & Tom Show. Sitting through their "comedy" was painful.

Webb was awesome, as always.

Still, I was very surprised and impressed that Webb was on the show for 45 minutes or so total.

Thanks to a couple of friends, I'll have an MP3 of the broadcast up on my Webb site sometime later today.

excellent Hunter! I caught a portion of it but the reception in my office today is not very good AND my staff wouldn't leave me alone for 5 minutes... I did catch Pretty Is As Pretty Does though -- sounded great Webb!

I look forward to hearing it in it's entirety (and uninterrupted...) later today :-)

Webb was great on the show - songs were good and he answered the questions well - and didn't let it bother him that they were rambling on and on about what a credo is...etc. But, yes they generally seemed to like having him on and cudos to them for doing so ... would have been even cooler if the whole band was there playing along rather then just WW solo .... but you know THE MAN ... he sounded great as expected.

Glad you got some well deserved exposure in the national spotlight Webb .... I know Nancy is working on getting you on another national show (which I've mentioned before) and on that one - they have an entire studio designed for full bands to come in and play live.

Congrats to The Last of the Full Grown Men ... ya' made all us Webbheads proud.

Bob & Tom make my brain hurt, too.
No wonder no KC stations carry them anymore. BUT, I can deal with it to hear some live Webb and his ability to be a gentleman in the face of stupidity. Bob & Tom did eventually get to business and talked about the DVD and the cruise. Webb managed to squeeze in some previews of songs on the new CD. Webb, you are the best. I totally admire you finesse in the business world.

I watched the WGN show last night and they showed a nice segment of the WW portion of their Thursday Morning show.
They did the Credo talk some and they discussed the DVD and played Webb doing TCB Yodel live.... wished they would have shown more but that was a pretty good segment. Anybody else watch it ... ???

As most of you know, I don't usually criticize anyone on this board. Period. We are all pals and Webb fans. However, I feel I must point out a couple of things to my fellow board members...

Bob & Tom invited Webb to come on their nationally-syndicated radio show. They gave him a big chunk of an hour on the air to plug the current projects, play three songs and generally make himself known to their large audience. Nobody made them do it. Their act is not for everybody, but they aren't "shock jocks" and they really love music.

A lot of people in St. Louis listen to this show. I had friends calling me when they heard Webb on the radio, and the crowd at Lucas School House last night was WAY bigger than the owners expected. There were several competing shows in town and the free publicity made a real difference.

Webb mentioned this website on the air several times and B & T put a link on their own site, so I imagine some of their fans have found us. Indeed, Bob & Tom themselves have probably been here. Do you really want them to see any unkind remarks about their show or them personally? Is that any way to help Webb? No, it isn't.
This board is not closely monitored, it's up to us to keep an eye on our own behavior, so please keep in mind that your posts are seen by a LOT of people and some of our personal opinions, however valid, don't need to be expressed here.

I now return to my usual happy-go-lucky attitude.

I think it's great that they had Webb on their show, and I appreciate getting the opportunity to hear it. However, I see nothing wrong with saying what I said, even if they read what I wrote. I didn't criticize them personally (which I couldn't anyway, since I don't know them), but I've never found the phony phone calls and the forced-laughter to be funny. Obviously, a lot of people do, as they've been doing what they do for a very long time. More power to them.

I did Tivo the WGN airing of B&T and watched it yesterday -- I was disappointed only by the brevity of the WW segment -- I think it was 15 min or less. I guess they couldn't solely air the WW interview (minus breaks) which is what this fan would have preferred! However, they did show the credo banter and I heard Webb mention an Extendz (sp?) commercial. Didn't pay much attention then -- at first I though he said Depends -- anyway.... Last night - I'm up with a sick child ohhh about 3 am, get her back to bed and sit up watching TV only to see an Extendz commercial --oh boy! Which is funny - but I can't imagine Webb (my Webbie) mentioning something like that! Otherwise - Webb sounded fantastic as always and I think he did well. And I think I speak for all us, when I say that we are thankful for the national exposure!!

Thanks to all of you who watched and/or listened. Certainly everyone is entitled to their opioion but, just let me say that Bob and Tom and their staff treated me wonderfully. I so appreciate the big ol' chunk of time they devoted to me and how genuine they were in all their actions and dealings. I do find those guys to be far less cynical and far more within the bounds of good taste than most of their counterparts in morning terrestrial radio. The fact that they let me plug EVERYTHING I've got goin' right now didn't hurt either. I was on their show years ago and it was really good to be back. They really are some of the good guys. WW

I believe I'm with you on this one, Hunter ... Bob & Tom and their crew try way too hard to be hip, and their constant sexual innuendo humor must amuse some, but it doesn't trip my trigger ... and Webb, let me also say that I'm thrilled beyond words that you got all that exposure (I'm sure we all are, TommyLee), and I will take your word that they're good guys, but if they're "far more within the bounds of good taste than most," I guess I'm glad to be so sheltered up here in the northeast Tennessee mountains .....

That's fine.
I was obviously not trying to persuade anyone to become a B & T fan.
I just don't understand the impulse to say anything negative about any other Webb supporter, especially on this forum. I don't get it. After all, this website literally belongs to Webb! We should be nice, old-fashioned as that sounds. I have bit my tounge many times, and I aint perfect for sure, but you and you and Bob and Tom and you are all Webb buddies to me.

Noted, TommyLee ... I think we who frequent this Board are just like a family of sorts ... which means that every now and then something's gonna be said that another won't like :-) ... but with few exceptions we're generally pretty civil here, I think, and it's uncommon for one Webb fan to make negative comments about another. I would respectfully disagree with your suggestion, tho, that a couple of syndicated radio jocks necessarily fit that category, solely because Webb was on their show last week.

I'd wager that we (including, sigh, those who missed it) are all extremely pleased at, and appreciative of, the exposure Webb got from being on the Bob & Tom show ... I just don't feel it's required that we overlook - or hide - what we might think of said show otherwise (and in the interest of full disclosure, I split my 35-minute morning commute between Bob & Tom and John Boy & Billy ... tho I don't believe I've ever tuned away from the latter in utter annoyance). And in the overall scheme of things, I don't think that'll matter ... we can all remain buddies :-) and keep on diggin' the Real (and great) Music WW and gang dish out for our enjoyment.

Are Bob & Tom not due the same respect we show others on this board, just because they are "syndicated radio jocks"?

I'll try to say this more clearly...those who wish to criticize Bob & Tom, or anyone for that matter, have the whole internet at their disposal. Go right ahead.
But...
When you come here you are in Webb's domain, his territory, his house as it were. To the left of the screen, see the "copyright 1990-present Webb Wilder"? This is not really a public forum. We are Webb's guests here, and it has always been my understanding that it's rude to go to a party and insult the host's other friends.
That's all.
Didn't intend to make a big deal about it.
I doubt that Bob & Tom would care a bit, they are used to being slammed and I'm sure they laugh all the way to the bank, but it would be nice if they invited Webb on the show again some day...

Wow, I'm so wierd (or is that weird?). I honestly only listen to Dave Ramsey on XM (he talks like Webb) and 780AM news radio. No offense to any other radio anybody/thing. I'm just not a radio person. Not much of a tv person either, because I only have the free channels. Got a government coupon for the converter box but it expired before I got around to trying to use it. Rats.
I missed the radio show, but I suspected Hunter would save the day (thank you Hunter). My brother actually called me at 7am the day before and said "Bob and Tom are having Webb on the show- isn't that that guy you like?" which gave me a chuckle.
Thanks Bob and Tom, and I would have tried to listen, but I was at work when the show was on. I think it's great that Webb was a guest on your show, and it sounds like Webb had a blast doing it.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

A "big deal" wasn't my intent, either, Tom, and once I finish this post, I'll have no more to say about it.

I feel safe saying that neither Hunter, MotherBear nor I (nor anyone else who feels similarly but hasn't said as much) came to this forum expressly to criticize a radio show ... that was, and remains, strictly an auxiliary observation. Again, we're all thrilled Webb got that exposure ... that was, and remains, the main point.

Besides, there are "other topics" discussed on this Board - Webb's domain - all the time ... the other day, Webb himself was the first responder to the "favorite Beatles tune" thread.

Should Bob & Tom have Webb back on their show again some day (hopefully, sooner rather than later), that'll be super (and maybe I'll be able to catch it this time!) ... I doubt seriously, tho, that it'll have anything to do with us malcontents on this particular Webb Board thread ... :-)

Tom, I've met you and your better half at a prior Webb Fest (and heck, maybe even other times ... my memory stinks), and it's obvious from that meeting and your many posts here that you're great folks ... we can always find better things to spend our keyboard strength on ... :-)
