GIG GUIDE
By Rebecca Ledford - rledford@macontel.com

Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks

"We play both kinds of music, rock and roll," said Webb Wilder of his band, the Beatnecks. Good, old-fashioned rock 'n' roll that is. On its latest album, a live disc recorded at the Workplay Theatre in Birmingham, Ala., Wilder showcases his talents at rockabilly, country, blues and R&B with classics such as "Baby Please Don't Go." Get ready to rock tonight at the Cox Capitol Theatre, 382 Second St. 257-6391.

Nice, they are expecting a great crowd tonight in Macon. The Big House Foundation, a non-profit museum where the Allman Brothers lived, has been a big supporter of this show. Come on out if you can!

An Amazing show all around. Thanx Webb for coming to Macon again. Maybe not the size crowd we'd have liked, but Webb and Company still did an excellent job. First time seeing Bob Williams with the band, did not disappoint.

Macon was great. Too bad the weather was lousy and the crowd was small. Nice meeting you Roger.
It is truely amazing that Webb and the bouys put on such a killer show. Best venue and best live show I've seen in almost 20 years of Webbing.
Roger. Post the photos you took. I imaging they came out really well.

Well, thank you all! It was a very warm and enthusiastic buncha folks indeed, who attended. We appreciated the venue and the Big House Foundation's involvement and enthusiasm as well. Look forward to our next trip to Macon. WW

Red, it was great meeting y'all, too. I agree that it was an excellent show. I will post a few shots--most of them did come out pretty well.

If a small crowd shows up for a gig, and the band plays a great show, everybody goes around saying "You shoulda been there!"
Next time, bigger crowd.
That's the theory, anyway.
