Departed this Earth - June 9th, 2026

Webb, the band, and the rest of Team Wilder would like to honor and memorialize our friend Bill Cody. To the heartbreak of all, Bill (born Trent Barry Clutts) passed away on June 9th, 2026, after the rapid development of a serious health issue. He was parted from us at the far too early age of 67 years.

Bill and Webb Bill was a widely-known, much-loved, and well-respected bedrock of media presence in the Nashville music industry. He served over 30 years as leading on-air talent at WSM-AM Radio. In addition, Bill was the host and announcer of many shows and events at the Grand Ole Opry, a TV personality, and a Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame inductee.

Early each weekday on WSM, Bill's show Coffee, Country & Cody roused Nashville with interesting guests, lively and engaging conversation, and of course, excellent music.

Among the countless fine folk appearing on Coffee, Country & Cody was none other than our own Webb Wilder. We encourage you to click here to search the WEBB-TV YouTube channel for several of Webb's appearances on the much vaunted program.

In a recent Instagram post, Webb wrote the following about Bill:

"A great light has gone out, but those of us who knew him or even listened to him on the radio will continue to feel his warmth for years to come. His passing takes me quite by surprise as he always looked the picture of health to me. As you can see, his sartorial qualities and demeanor far exceeded mine. Charismatic, professional, and one of a kind. Advocate and amigo. Hard to believe that Bill Cody has left the building." -- WW
