You folks in KC and Lincoln will be seeing and hearing something different-the Webb Wilder Power Trio!
Bob Williams had to stay home because his Mom is not well-we hope she's doing better, Bob. The results last night were surprisingly good, even though all of Webb's songs are arranged for at LEAST two guitars. The trio rocked out very effectively, with Webb switching from rhythm to lead at the drop of a hat and playing solos he might have never played before. Tom's bass was turned WAY up in the mix, which helped fill out the sound.
It was different, and really great!
The Bootleg turned out to be a nice room, and a good crowd turned out. Our friends loved the show. Thanks for braving the weather and coming to see us, guys!!

Spot on, TommyLee! The Webb Wilder Power Trio not only made sure that the show must go on but ROCKED IT in spite of a late start (which was beyond their control.) I heard no complaints. If anything, I heard comments and exclamations about licks that they had never heard Webb do before.

I didn't read your post before the show here in KC but I knew something was wrong when I didn't see Bob. I hope his mother is doing OK.

The Trio kicked ass, didn't they?
I don't think Webb would have tried that 10 years ago, but he has become a terrific all-around guitarist. Our friends were really impressed.
Now we've seen Webb solo and with the band including one, two and three guitars. He also does shows with just Tom.
The only thing left is a horn section, or maybe a symphony orchestra. Man, a horn section would be cool!

Haven't seen the power trio, but we have seen Webb with a keyboard player. That would be "The" Al Kooper.

Wow! "Nashville Bum!" by favorite from "Town + Country!" How I love that album! It's one of the best cover albums I've ever heard, and one of a handful that's a classic in its own right.
