Well, the big week is here: Webb Fest IX! Wow, really? NINE?!?!? It is,
thanks to YOU, "the People of the Loving Public," and WW uber-fan, Jim
Chandler (aka "Tater Bodine") that we have been able to continue to do
this event year after year.
We are excited to be back at the groovy & venerable Capitol Arts Theater
on the picturesque town square in downtown Bowling Green this year, after
a couple of years at a different Bowling Green venue.
As per usual, Webb & the Beatnecks will provide the music. There will be
a limited edition DVD of LAST year's show (only 50 copies!) as well as a
limited edition "Webb Fest 9" T-shirt, not to mention lots of other stuff
on hand at the show. Lots more details at http://www.webbwilder.com
.Here's what Tater has to say:
"... tickets available through the SkyPac Box office for the event. Our
ticket holders (those who got them through Tater) get in at 6pm. The
general public gets in at 7pm. There will be door prizes for our group.
The Grand Door Prize this year is a guitar & gig bag. The guitar will be
played on stage by Bob Williams, and can be autographed by the band if the
lucky winner so desires! At 7:30pm, we may show a video (either Webb
Wilder P.I. or Scattergun). The show starts promptly at 8pm for two
blistering sets of swampadelic Webb Wilder tunage, followed by an even
more blistering encore! There will be an opportunity at intermission and
after the show to get SWAG items signed by Webb Wilder. SWAG items
include a special event T-Shirt, DVDs, CDs, posters, stickers & all sorts
of band memorabilia, all of which can be purchased at rock bottom prices
before the show, during intermission & afterwards. Alcohol is available
through SkyPac."
In addition, Webb will be making some media appearances in Bowling Green
on Friday 10/3. First, Webb will perform solo & live on WBKO, Bowling
Green TV's Midday program. Then, he'll rush over to D93 WDNS radio (you
can listen online using this link:
http://radio.securenetsystems.net/v5/WDNS
), for Cafe Rock with longtimeD93 jock & WW fan, Bryan Locke, and official Webb Wilder archivist, Hunter
Goatley.
So, be there and ON the Square or, well, be SQUARE!
