After the Fest we are planning to Drive South to New Orleans. As usual our only plan is to 'Keep it between the ditches' Any suggestions for places to visit will be greatfully received. We have identified Muscle Shoals, Tupelo and Hattiesburg as likely stopping points but as 'Out of Towners' we appreciate you cannot beat local knowledge. Thanks in advance.

It looks like we won't be able to make it to Webb Fest this year. My health is not so good right now. We are also having our only bathroom gutted and rebuilt, starting on October 6th, so there is a lot of work to do before then. Booooooooooo......

Lets Shake, Lets Push! | I would suggest you travel for a portion of your trip from TN to MS on the Natchez Trace Parkway: http://www.nps.gov/natr/index.htm Also if you have time I bet you'd enjoy a few days in New Orleans. We have stayed at The Place des Armes twice, same room both times- room 212. It has a nice private balcony overlooking the courtyard and pool. And the location is super, its 1/2 a block from Jackson Square, across the street from the cathedral http://www.placedarmes.com/

HUGE thanks to the Bodine Clan for your your hospitality and friendship. Its always a blast to see you and we really appreciate all that you do.
Thanks to WW and the Beatnecks for another terrific show. Bob was 'on Fire' but no weak links as always. I may have been a little jet lagged {:-)} so sorry I missed saying goodbye on Sunday morning. The Hoodoo witch covered for me and thanks for looking after her. From Nashville we took as many Tips as we could. Here is some info on our route.
Nashville - We cemented the World wide Webb with a evening to remember with Tez & Deb. Thanks Guys, Hugh Fun getting to know you and seeing Jimmy at Roberts was a real bonus. The CD is good too! I was especially amused when we were mistaken for Australians only to find they were a local band for our Aussie cobbers!
Florence (Muscle Shoals) - We stayed at the same hotel as Aretha did all those years ago. (Scene of the infamous fight) The current Owner hails from the UK, about 30 miles from our hometown! Muscle Shoals was terrific and The Swampers celebration much in evidence and rightly so. Whilst visiting the Alabama Music hall of fame we had a conversation with the Manager who was suggesting there may be a booking for WW. I hope they follow it up with Nancy.
Tupelo - Great to see the Hardware store is still a working business. Very Cool T Shirt too!
Clarksdale - Needs a little help but we felt right at home. We could not get in to the Shack Up Inn but we did visit Ground Zero Club and Reds. Fantastic! From here we hit the Mississippi Blues trail. (Honky Tonkin')
Vicksburg - Wonderful, Pretty welcoming. (Baer Inn recommended) I learnt so much about the American Civil War. An area I was completely ignorant of before. Our gateway to the Natchez Trace Parkway which was gorgeous.
Natchez - Very Pretty and again full of Southern hospitality. We felt privileged.
Wiggins (Via Hattiesburg) We took the Hattiesburg Visitor bureau to task for their lack of Knowledge re WW. The supervisor promised to raise it with the Mayor.... We will follow up! Wiggins was nice and introduced us to Piggly Wiggly!
Biloxi - We arrived in time for the last day of cruisin the Coast. It was winding down but there were still some amazing cars and bikes to be seen. Temp was pretty hot too. Broken Wrench Museum was very interesting and I learnt some stuff about English Cars.
Then to New Orleans,,,,
NOLA was great. We stayed in the French Quarter and following Tips went to Frenchman Street. It was cooler than Bourbon Street and we just did what you do. Every night was Mardi Gras but with dignity (Mostly)
Flying back was a pain in the backside but hey no pain no Gain.
Sorry this post is long but so many people offered tips and advice I wanted to show how much it improves our visit. We really appreciate it and hope we get the chance again. All we need is time and Money!
BTW Another great T Shirt from the Swag Czar. I love the revised back panel too!
Thanks Fellow Webb Heads.
