What an absolute thrill! One of the outstanding bands of all time. Cyril Jordan still plays that clear bodied guitar. It was great to finally meet you TommyLee and your lovely wife. Looking forward to seeing you next Saturday for Webb's solo performance. Steve, if you're out there I expect to see you as well. Webb, thank you so much for all your hard work lo these many years and for introducing me to the Groovies! See you on Saturday.

Yes, Cyril told me it's the same Dan Armstrong Plexi guitar. Heaviest electric guitar ever made. Man, those guys were having a of of fun...so were we! If they come to your area, don't miss them. Webb fans will be famliar with one of their "hits", the cautionary drug epic "Slow Death". It was great to meet Ken, see ya at the House Concert!

The most common one is on the original Shake Some Action album as well as Groovies Greatest Grooves. Another one is on a French CD called Sixteen Tunes. The third is on a collection of their Skydog singles called Flamin' Groovies-Grease. All three versions seem to be about the same tempo. Can you guys tell me where another rendition might be found?

Lots of bass and it sounds great when you crank it up. The other two aren't as good, although they're interesting to nut cases like me. The band was heavily bootlegged, they made recordings in Australia and France that they did not control. BTW, Cyril said the title phrase came from an old war movie where a Sergeant walks into a barracks and tells the soldiers to "shake some action". I don't think he knows what movie it was.
