Just a thought... for an AWESOME duet with Martina McBride! AND 2 suggestions for remakes of originals that have Webb Wilder written all over them! All 2 are Johnny Cash tunes.
How about you and Martina cover "Jackson"? That's the duet.
The other 2 Johnny Cash songs I think would be killer covers are "Folsom Prison Blues" and "25 Minutes to Go."
Google 'em and YouTube 'em and weigh in on it!
Keep rockin'! No stoppin'!
P.S. We need to see you and the boys in South Florida ASAP!!

You wouldn;t believe how many little ol' american darlings are attempting it these days! Funny how JC has a TON of songs and everybody covers that one. I best stay away from it. I give a nod to it when I play "Luthor's Boogie" which I've been known to do. I really love "Crawling" and the "monkey beat" is dear to my heart. I have been known to attempt it at soundcheck but, never bothered to learn all the words and Tom is right...Edmunds OWNS it. Having said that, the Graham Parker & the Rumour version is pretty damn good. Okay. Give my love to Rose...;) WW

When we'd cover "Folsom Prison Blues", people could not only picture him shooting a man in Reno, they could see him killing the guy by inserting the bullets manually.

I should try to make a list some time. One thing these songs have in common is that they're not well known to the general public. I don't think Webb would record a song that's already strongly associated with someone famous, but he loves the obscure stuff and probably knows about 5,000 more songs than the rest of us anyway...

From '70, a hit in Steel River's base, Canada, and a minor hit in the midwest. Obscure enough for Webb to flat out own it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUmpVG5IWO0

I really enjoyed them both. It is true that Wwebb can cover almost any thing and make it his own It's still fun to imagine though. "Kid gloves" by Rory Gallagher would sound good.

I have been thinking about this Town & country 2 for a while. Being the seasoned traveller that I am I was in New Orleans & the Fats Domino song "Walking to New Orleans " kept playing in my head & then Whisky Heaven that I first heard in Clint Eastwood's Every which way but loose. When I got home I looked in my collection and remembered a faster tempo version of Whisky Heaven that Fats did & I am thinking Webb could to a rocking version that would sound cool. Anyway long story but that's my pick :)
