Subject: Webb and Tom in Ohio
It was a great weekend in the State of Ohio. Webb and Tom came in on Friday afternoon for the first gig at Buckeye Community Services (where I work) in Jackson, OH. It was a packed house and the band played 2 sets of blistering Duo-sonic music:
Set One:
1. Wild Honey
2. One Taste of the Bait
3. TCB Yodel
4. Too Much Sugar for a Nickle
5. She's Not Romantic
6. Ju Ju Man
7. Devil's Right Hand
8. I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight
9. Nashville Bum
10. The Rest Will Take Care of Itself
11. She Won't Come Around
12. Hittin' Where It Hurts

Second Set:
1. Pretty Is
2. V-8 Ford
3. No Great Shakes
4. More Like Me
5. Charlene
6. Old Copper Penny
7. Who Will the Next Fool Be?
8. Every Day I Kick Myself
9. Original Mixed-Up Kid
10. Carryin' the News to Mary
11. In My Mind's Eye
12. I'm a Lover Not a Fighter

On Saturday Night, Webb Tom and your Humble Narrator traveled to Pomeroy Ohio to the Court Street Grill for another gig before a very Webb Friendly group of Regulars and played another 2 great sets of music:

Set One:
1. Wild Honey
2. Devil's Right Hand
3. Ju Ju Man
4. She's Not Romantic
5. TCB Yodel
6. Ju Ju Man
7. Too Much Sugar For a Nickle
8. I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight
9. Nashville Bum
10. The Rest Will Take Care of Itself
11. Human Cannonball
12. No Great Shakes
13. Carryin' the News to Mary
14. Hittin' Where it Hurts

There were a couple of gremlins in the guitars but the crowd did not even notice and the crowd loved every bit of the show.

Second Set: (And here's where Webb completely deviated from the set list and played a brilliant set of on-the-spot thought up tunes.)

1. One Taste of the Bait
2. More Like Me
3. The Only One
4. V-8 Ford
5. The Original Mixed-Up Kid
6. Still Water Runs Deep
7. Sudden Stop
8. Down On The Farm
9. The Ubangi Stomp
10. Rock Therapy
11. Luther's Boogie
12. Old Copper Penny
13. Who Will the Next Fool Be?
14. TCB Yodel
15. Pretty Is
16. Worried Life Blues
17. I'm a Lover Not a Fighter

I really enjoyed spending time with Webb and Tom and got to feel a little like a band member on Saturday as a roadie, equipment man and Swag Seller. It was a very successful and entertaining weekend and I hope the boys come back and do it again soon. It was Aaron Chaney's birthday and the guys helped by signing and donating a nice little Fender Squire guitar for Aaron for all he has done to help with the shows and with Webb Fest. The People here at BCS want to have the guys back again for sure.

Big thanks to Tater and family for (obviously read above!) TONS of help, support and hospitality. I remember liking a song by Jonathan Edwards called "The Ballad of Sweet Upsy Daisy" or something like that. I can only remember the chorus but, apparently there is a tale contained therein and I was told (by one of the Court St. Grill attendees) that "it happened" right down the street there in Pomoeroy. I think Edwards and my ol' pal, Jessie Scott went to college somewhere around there. Anyway, it was all fun and once again... All hail! Tater! The Spud King! WW

We had a big ol' time in Ohio, and appreciate so much the help and hospitality of Jim and his family. If not for the Tater-supplied spare guitars, the Pomeroy show might have been...abbreviated!

Btw, although we refer to it as the 'Court Street Grill', Tater and I were noticing that all of the signage says 'Court Grill'. Either way, Jackie and the folks there are truly first rate, and anyone who wasn't there missed a really great performance by Webb- I'm just glad Tater was a witness!
