Subject: An Appeal to All Webb Board Members
Friends:
While it is easy to continue to blast Rick/ Rickey/ blinddog/ talent buyer, etc. for his inflammatory remarks against Webb and some of the rest of us on this board, I would like to ask you to refrain from responding to his posts in the future. I have thought about this quite a bit, and I think we should all just ignore him from now on. I wasn't sure how to respond after being told that Tony and I need heavy machinery to haul ourselves around, but then I decided I do not need to say anything. In my job, I help others deal with drama quite often, and I have taught them that people can say anything they want about others, but it doesn't make it true. Some people thrive on drama, and that is that. I actually feel much better about the situation now that Glenn Spayth has posted to say that he and the folks at the Bunk House do not share in RB's views. In fact, he referred to Rick Baker as an acquaintance, which is often far from that of "friend." I appreciate Glenn's kind words to Webb as well. That is what Tony and I will remember about our experience at the Bunk House, not this other mess.

Turd, Tater, Floyd, TommyLee, Otis, and others: Let's just ignore this guy from now on and do our best to help this board get back to the class act it was before.

Thank you.
Susan

I know you're right, Susan.
I tried to keep my yap shut as long as I could stand it, thought some reasonable discourse was a possibility, found out it would be impossible given the attitude of the person involved.
Everyone here LOVES Webb, the band and their music. It hurts to see or hear unjust, ridiculous anger directed at someone whose only aim is to entertain and bring a little bit of joy into the lives of as many people as possible, and it's tough to sit by and say nothing. That is usually the right thing to do, though, because someone who would start such a silly squabble as the result of a tiny misunderstanding is obviously a troubled individual looking for attention wherever it may be found.
As a final note, let me quote the great Tommy Womack from his hilarious and instructive book, "Cheese Chronicles". It's the story of Tommy's old Bowling Green countryish/punk band, Government Cheese.
Tommy mentions Webb several times. Check out this from page 167, where he has talked for a couple of pages about soundmen and the problems the band had when trying to get the sound they wanted in clubs:

"We stopped using a hired soundman after we'd seen Webb Wilder for the third time in a month, in three different clubs, and he'd had a different local soundman every time, and he always sounded exactly the same. Hmmmmmm. Maybe it's us?"

Tommy knows Webb...Webb knows good sound, he knows soundmen, he knows music, and if he tells someone to stop screwing up the freakin' sound it would be a good idea to listen to him and shut the hell up. The man knows what he's talking about.
That's all...

TommyLee,
Right now, it is really difficult for me to put it in a different gear and take the high road, especially since the comments suddenly became very personal and Tony was attacked. People can say what they want about my weight, my looks, my personality, etc., but no one gets to attack the best man I have ever known (Love ya, Webb, but it's Tony this time.). There isn't anything I can say or do right now that would assuage the hurt I feel for Tony. I promise I wasn't preaching to anyone about better behavior. RB seems to want to keep stirring the crap, so I figured ignoring him takes away his power--as if he had any real power to begin with. I appreciate your references, which back up what you have to say. Anybody can go on and on about something and never back it up with concrete evidence. You proved that you are a man of principles--not that you ever have to prove that to me (or Tony). I have interacted with you and PammyLee enough over the years to know what sort of people you are, and I know that you are not going to stand idly by and let somebody run over a decent, kind, grateful, knowledgeable, professional man like Webb Wilder.

Well...
Susan, you are a gorgeous gal. We all recognize that. Tall and striking, a beautiful woman inside and out.
Now Tony is not quite my type, but he sure looked good and healthy the last time we saw you. Lets face it, the guy is a prince. Usually the nicest person in the room everywhere he goes. The two of you truly deserve one another, and it makes me happy every time we get to hang out with you. What a great couple!

Anybody who fails to appreciate what you guys have going for you is just an idiot. Let their foolish words run off you like water off a duck.

Your pals,
Tom & Patrice

Webb ROCKS!
Webb ROCKS!
Susan, Tony, Tommy, and All, Susan is right, for sure. And let us all remember that everyone on planet earth these days, can be hurt by things put out on the internet. So please use the internet to spread goodness and kindness, and resist any urge to use it as a weapon.

There is enough pain and suffering we can't do anything about, so no need to create it on purpose. I love you guys.

We have met a whole bunch of great, great people through the Webb Board.
You know who you are!
...and a tip of the hat to some folks who are no longer with us.
Sometimes we get a little spoiled here, everyone is so nice and on the same page regarding the quality and nature of our discourse.
