So as a long time fan of the man and band, I decided to take a look at the tour schedule as I'll be in TN by weeks end and weekend. It was with excitement and horror that I saw he was playing my home town, Arlington, VA... at the same time I was in TN! Now how's that for luck? <shakes fist ruefully at fate...>

Webb, if you read this... your show at Iota will be great, cool venue, the crowds will go crazy... there may be a stampede of brown flip flops (Arlington inside joke)... please by all that is holy please return to Arlington (or anywhere in the DC area) again before I get grayer. Oh, and wave as we cross paths on 81. I'll be the one driving the group of kids to race at Melton Hill lake. Beep beep.

Sorry...it's taken us a long time to get BACK there. We were basically playting DC once a year for a while. Anyway, what can I say? Thanks for carin'! Flip flops? Never have gotten it regardless of color. Now BEATLE BOOTS..that's another thing. WW

Alas, I too share a similar fate. I haven't missed a DC area show in many moons, but this one conflicts with my daughters' 16th birthday bash... we'll have our own amps a blarin' just a few miles west of Iota. I did send out a note to the band email list to make the good folks aware of the Webb show at Iota, rock em' Webb and Co!

As for fate, it's hard to go wrong with a quote or two from "A Confederacy of Dunces":

"It's not your fate to be well treated, Ignatius cried. You're an overt masochist. Nice treatment will confuse and destroy you."

"Oh Fortuna, blind, heedless goddess, I am strapped to your wheel, Ignatius belched, Do not crush me beneath your spokes. Raise me on high, divinity."
