Flournoy Holmes art directed the cover and cover shoot for the "Doo Dad" album. He also did the cover for the iconic "Eat A Peach"by The Allman Brothers Band. Wyatt McSpadden from Austin took both the "Acres" and the "Town and Country" cover shots. and although they came out a year or so aprt, they were shot on the same day. WW

I'd always wondered about the "Acres" and "Town" shots. I assumed they were from the same time, but wasn't sure.

I particularly like the shot of Webb on "It Came From Nashville", with that "Meet the Beatles" half-shadow look.

That shot on the cover comes from the original publicity shot taken by R. S. Frield of me WAY back when. He and I worked with Bill Tyler by way of a preliminary discussion after which Bill came up with that cover. The photo is "doctored up" (in a very cool way) on the cover but it comes from that photograph. Flournoy was also involved in the cover artwork (he did it I believe) to "About Time," although tom took the "big green head shot" of a clay model/sculpture of his own creation and was therefore a creator in at least some of the cover art. The concept of it goes back to R. S. and Tom Comet. I think that's all correct anyway! Born To Be Wilder" is from a photo of me taken by Tom Comet. The "More Like Me" cover concept is from Tom and myself. Tom did the actual artwork. WW

I've always thought the rock statues/heads on the cover of "About Time" would make some very cool yard gnomes!!

Our late pal Jarvis H. Lloyd had one of them Webb Moas built in his front yard.
It was quite beautiful, with a little flower bed around it...

Now, I'm not one to rat out a fellow Beatneck, but Mr. Lester is the one you need to keep an eye on. He has a fictional character he calls 'River Critter' whose sole purpose is to kill and dismember Mr. Wilder in the most gruesome ways imaginable- sorta like those "Itchy & Scratchy" cartoons. We all laugh nervously at River Critter's antics in the van, but many a truth are said in jest, and Mr. Lester's crime spree in Alabama is well-documented...

I've not really done anything with "Jack" but, it's there in the back of my mind. Thanks gain for the exqusite effect! WW

Back when I'se just a youngin' we used to have eat River Critters for supper most nights. That's when we couldn't find no Mole Men.

Another thing you could do is mount the workings LED/solar stake lights on them, and those little guys could keep you from stubbing your toe on your pathway at night.

I've eaten Gopher once. It wasn't that bad!

FYI-A friend of mine just received a catalog with Easter Island heads available for garden ornaments. The largest are 24" tall.
