Being a huge fan of the space program, I am enjoying the day long programming of the History Channel about the Apollo program. Hail Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins and the thousands of people behind the scenes that made this the greatest achievement of mankind!

But I'm going to pass. Norman Mailer would be disappointed in me. |

Most of the hotels and restaurants there are in the area around the Neil Armstrong space museum, a very cool modern building. One time I had the opportunity to go, and it's really a great little place full of his memorabilia, space hardware, and a lot of information on the history of rocket flight and the space program. Highly recommended if you're passing through. Not only that, but you used to be able to get 'Glorified Rice' at the now-closed Brown Family Restaurant right down the street, although I'd have to say that the Museum was BY FAR the more interesting of the two!
As a kid, I was fascinated by astronauts and space travel. I remember being at my parent's house trying to divide my attention between watching the moon landing on TV and kissing my first real girlfriend- at that point it was awfully hard to say which was the most interesting of THOSE two...

The pictures came out pretty good. He still has them somewhere. I know the cost of space is high but with such vast areas, can we afford not to explore.

As he jumped off of the back of his grain truck, his wedding ring caught in the wheel, tearing off the tip of his ring finger. However, he calmly collected the severed digit, packed it in ice, and managed to have it reattached by microsurgeons at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
When "Saturday Night Live" reported this incident on the Weekend Update segment, they quoted Armstrong as saying,
"That's one small step for man, one giant AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
