After a split second decision, Susan and I made a dash to Knoxville and arrived Barley's mere seconds before Webb and the Beatnecks took the stage. We are so glad we went. It was a good night to hang out and listen to some great music.

Webb and the guys were right on the money last night. For the first time since I have been seeing Webb live (2005), Tom Comet (RULES!) was loud enough in the mix to suit me. I guess I am biased because I am a huge fan of Tom's playing. They were absolutely kicking last night.

The setlist:

Big Time
Human Cannonball
Rough Rider
The Only One
Pretty Little Lights
Lookin' For A Fool
Still Water Runs Deep
Lonely For A Reason
She's Not Romantic
Honky Tonk (in Mississippi)
Too Cool For Love
Hoodoo Witch
Come Around
One Taste Of The Bait
Sudden Stop
Tough It Out

Slow Death
Changing Colors
Ju Ju Man
Pretty Is
Don't Slander Me
The Rest Will Take Care Of Itself
Just Had To Laugh
Sputnik
Loud Music
Who Will The Next Fool Be
No Great Shakes
Hittin' Where It Hurts
Ain't That Lovin' You, Baby?
Bob Williams is the King of Rock-N-Roll
Baby, Please Don't Go.

Big thanks to the guys for being such great people and great musicians. We had a blast!

P.S.- Too bad Scott couldn't make the gig. His trombone playing was dearly missed. ;o)

Webb, I forgot to ask you the other night: Do you need more set list paper? If the answer is yes, I will take care of it immediately.

No, Susan. thank you. I just didn't have one of those tablets with me in the room when I made out the set lists and had to use notebook paper. I do use the ones you gave us all the time and really appreciate them. They're great! I still have plenty. Just didn't have any with me at that moment. I'm afarid I'm not very organized. Chaos abounds wherever I go. That reminds me: I need to stick one in my brief case! Thanks again! WW

Well I can't speak for my brother the Dalai Lama, but here in Raliegh Lammaville these two remarks are kind of at odds:
"the philosophy is kindness.
...... you pudgy-faced applejohn!"
But I guess those Tibetians see life a little differently than us hillbillies.

According to thefreedictionary.com. and applejohn is "A kind of apple which by keeping becomes much withered; - called also Johnapple." I didn't really have any idea what it meant; I was just quoting Stewie from Family Guy. It wasn't the best I had at the time, but we do try to keep the board family-friendly.
