You are apparently playing Auburn, AL at the War Eagle Supper Club where I will be playing an acoustic solo set...something I've never done. Oh the horror (hayride)! Really looking forward to seeing you and the band after all these years. You--among a couple other notables--were what got me out of the music biz. You guys were so unbelievably good, such snappy dressers and, well, just all around better than our little dog and pony show I figured why bother? We folded up the circus tents and released all the animals into local day cares and shuffled off into the sunset. Subsequently I have wasted my life looking for a cure for cancer and trying to stop world hunger. You dirty rat! At any rate, I await your show with bated breath,,,as opposed to baited. Bruce

We can live vicariously through these guys. After all, anyone can cure cancer and bring on world peace, but who can play the electric guitar, bass or drums and get paid for making people happy? These guys are so good, they could live vicariously through themselves!

Bruce, it's okay to leave the BIZNISS. it sucks anyway. As evidenced by your upcoming gig, you haven't left the MUSIC. Tater, where ARE our wages? Oh yeah, the wages of SIN! This "loved by dozens" thing has introduced me to some great folks but, I think I made more money deliverin' furniture part time in 1970 than I do now! Yikes! It ain't easy bein' A BURNIN" GOD OF LOVE. I do like "live vicariously through themselves." Fippy. Humbly...WW

I know that the wages of music are not always what they should be, but I can see it in your faces on the stage when you are in the middle of some really tight, jammin', electrifyin' lead guitar part, that you guys do love what you do. The creative process of writing, playing, recording and taking it on the road has got to be worth more than money (Although a little folding cash would make it a lot better.). Hang in there and when the Wilder millions come rolling in, just try and remember us little folks! This here little folk will try and catch you guys at the Biker Bar this Friday in Tuscawaras, Ohio!

He and I play a good bit at the house here and he has sat in on some of our sparse gigs. Resistor still gets together once a year to play a benefit here in town. the business truly does suck and I ALWAYS hated that part of it. But, as Brain Police says, the writing, jamming and creative process (never really enjoyed recording all that much) and playing live are quite the addiction. It is uncanny as I look at your promo pics how many of the same or very similar guitars we have--black 335, yellow double cutaway Junior, Les Pauls, Teles (great minds--and Keith groupies--think alike) etc. You always had some cool fiddles. You were playing some called Fat Cats or something when I last saw you. Also, whatever happened to Donny? The first time I saw that guy play at the Nick I just sat there with my mouth agape for an hour and a half. I was even known to steal his little show ending string rippage on occasion. Anyway, I have no idea what the set order is or anything for this gig but hopefully we will have a chance to chat and hopefully people will show up. Auburn is notable in that the better the band is the smaller the crowd is, i.e., Dumpstaphunk, Leon Russell (50 people), the Velcro Pygmies 80s rock cover band (packed). It ain't my town. I just live here. I've from Planet Claire.

The irony is that Blues, Country, Rock and Roll, Jazz all pretty much have their origins in the South...oh yeah, Africa and the British Isles! Anyway, I don't have the black 335 any more but, I want it back! I sold it to the buddy of the guy who bought the Fat Cat! Yay Keith! His like will not come this way again but, they should definitely stufdy his DNA! Donny went back to Arizona. Oh yeah, the TV junior is gone, too. Anyway, if you come we'll have at least ONE person in the audience. Maybe we can beat Leon...maybe 51? 50 people for LEON RUSSELL!?!?!?A crime, a crime. As my friend, Phareaux used to say,"Zem pala tay bozo." WW

I finally spent money on it and had a luthier fix it up nice and painted it orange (my daughter picked the color). It was really cool but I never played it much and in one of my fuck-the-world-I-quit moods I sold it. Unlike you I typically hord guitars and now have a good baker's dozen--most that I have ever had other than various bastard Strats I've sold. Never could bond with one of those for some reason. All said and done I'm a Tele man and I always good back to the late 70s heavy as a car battery black one that I've played for years. It isn't really even my best sounding one but the neck is great. Not really a good era for Teles but, as I like to say, I can make the finest guitar sound like crap. Have you gone Gibson? Ok...I'm sounding like a guitar nerd here....
School will be out when you get there so it will be a local crowd. I'll do what I can to put out the word but I'm not exactly a beacon of nightlife cool. I do have a mailing list and I'll send out regarding it via that. Not sure what your travel plans are but you and your crew are welcome to stay at my place. we have plenty of room. recession and all. I have many karma payments to make for the people who let me flop at their place over the years.
