Webb has covered a couple of Mott The Hoople / Ian Hunter songs so as they've announced they are reforming for a couple of gigs in Hammersmith in October, I 'd like to start a campaign for Webb to be the support band for the shows.

I was about 17 years old and I think they were the first British band I ever saw live. That was great. Saw Hunter in Norway when we were there a coupla years ago. He totally commanded the stage and had a very good show, band, etc. My only disappaointment was he never played any electric guitar on that show but, his acoustic and keyboard playing were in top form and his vocals were unmistakably, classic Ian Hunter. I realized he is a rare thing...a ROCK AND ROLL singer/songwriter. WW

"Just thought you'd like to know the Mott the Hoople reunion IS going to take place on October 2nd & 3rd, 2009 at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London. It will be the original members - Mick, Pete, Phally, Buff and me. They've asked our esteemed webmaster, Justin, to formulate a Mott the Hoople site which should be up and running in the near future. Why are we doing it? I can't speak for the others, but I'm doing it just to see what it's like. Short of war, death, famine etc. ...it's ON."
- Ian Hunter
I saw them in uh...197...hmmmm...wow....the 70s in Atlanta at the Fox Theater under extremely "special" circumstances. Ah, the stars-at-night-ceiling at the Fox. Anyway, always been a fan. Maybe a U.S. tour to follow?

"Wildlife" may have been their current album. I saw the Stones in '72 and the Who in '71 and I KNOW that I saw Mott before either of them. Okay! I'm old! WW

I've always wondered, what he's wanted to do. Anybody know?

Not sure what that means.
