Jim was the person who got me involved in the Webb Board. Can't believe he's gone. We just saw him at Webb Fest. This is truly tragic, especially considering his young son.
What a great guy. | |

You are what you is! | That Avatar was him holding a small vacuum cleaner to his head as if he were sucking his brain out through it. Jim was a very close friend. Like Tommy Lee, he also got me involved in this Board. I was looking for a copy of Cornflicks on Google and found a page called "Stuff that pisses off Jarvis H. Lloyd". So naturally I took a look at it and it was a list of about 25 things he didn't like. Near the top of the list was that Cornflicks had not been made into a DVD and he was afraid he was going to wear out his VHS copy. We began to email each other and became fast friends and co-conspirators of hair-brained themes on this Board. Jim was a Physician in Dalton, GA who provided medical care for mostly poor Hispanics in his area. He brought his son Jimmy to Webb Fest this year. I got a picture of me with him just like at the other 2 Webb Fests. He had a brilliant mind, a caustic wit and a generous heart. I am glad to have known him. He and Uncle Butch did put on one hell of a good time last year with a Poker Run, party and concert with Webb Wilder in Pulaski, TN. God speed Jim!

I'm a little stunned to hear the news, Jim was a funny guy... he and Tater really had fun with the Webb Board stuff.... in fact, one of the first major prizes Tater and I gave away at Webb Fest #1, was a Humbucker guitar pickup - because at that time there was some banter from "Jarvis" and Webb and others about Humbucker pickups.... so Tater found one at a guitar shop - put it in a shadow box, had WW sign it with the tag line - "The Buck Stops Here" and got Jim to sign "Jarvis 8ch Lloyd" on there too... I was doing the giveaways and just so happens my own name was drawn ... I was tempted to give it back and re-draw - until he and most of the crowd said - Keep it, Keep it ... so I did ... It is hung up with my other WW signed posters...etc .... Now that silly little prize has a little more meaning with the passing of the Mad Doctor - Jim Coone. God Speed Jim.... it was great knowing you.

Please, Tater, tell me he got his hands on "B-Picture Shorts" before it was too late. It wouldn't be right if it finally came out -after- it was too late to enjoy...

And, Jarvis did buy a copy of the new "B-Picture Shorts" DVD at Webb Fest III. I sent several of you some photos I had on my computer of Jarvis at various Webb shows he attended with Dolly and me. If anyone else wants any of the photos, just send me an email and I'll be happy to oblige. Jim was also known by the Avatars of Walter Ego and Arthur Anomolous on this Board.

The World Wants Results not Excuses! | It's odd. I rarely post, but I check in most every day. I'm a Webb-head from way on back yonder. I never met either of the fellow Wilderians who have moved on from this life, but the kinship we all share through this forum and through this thing called music is STRONG. I'm at a point in life where I can't take time away from my family to attend the WEBBFESTs and certainly don't get to go to as many Webb shows as I'd like to, but it's cool to be able to check in vicariously and see what's up with my extended family of friends. Although I didn't even know him, I can count Jarvis as my friend. My prayers are with his family. I can't help but think of a line from one of my favorite tunes: "...Put love above everything else, and the Rest Will Take Care Of Itself..."
