I just called Debb (wildhoney69) and talked to her Mom. Dave came through surgery OK, they replaced his heart valve but didn't need to do the aorta replacement. Then he had a collapsed lung but pulled through that as well. The doctors seem pleased and everyone is very relieved. I'm sure Debb will tell us more when she has time but I wanted to get the news out ASAP.

Best news I have heard all day!!!

Thank you Tommy Lee, I didn't have access to a computer until today. Iam at home now, but Dave is still in ICU. He is doing good. They have removed all the tubes and IV today, he still has one tube in that runs to the lung that collapsed that should come out sometime tonight or first thing in the morning. The lung is back to normal and functioning as it should. He was up sitting in a chair and had solid food today. The doc said he came off the ventaltor sooner than most it came out 4 hours after surgery and most times it is in 8 hrs or longer. That was a relieve. The first night was pretty rough going, Dave was very uncomfortable and couldn't sleep, even though they were giving him morphine every hour on the hour. I was very worried and in and out of his room all night checking on him. I think the no sleep and worry has caught up to me cause Iam about to drop.(at least iam home for the night & maybe I'll get some rest). We're not sure when he gets to come home just yet, Iam guessing sometime next week. I'll let ya'll know.

This good news is the silver-lining on my day. Debb, I hope you (and Dave) have a more comfortable night tonight. Since he's already sitting up and eating solid food, I bet he will be ready to come home before the doctors are ready to let him go! Once he's home you will REALLY be able to sleep.

I for got to tell you the main aeorta didn't have to be replaced, doc said he grafted it, he put a band around it to stop it from opening more. This was the tricky surgery that we were worried about, Thank God they didn't have to replace it.

If Dave feels up to it, maybe we will see ya at Lucas in Dec.

Dave is home. He got to come home Sunday. Everything is going good. He had a rough night last night,but hopefully it will get better. Just wanted to give you all a quik up date, have to take Mitchell to school. Will post more later.
