Well, first let me tell all of you that I am touched and tickled to read about Snake on the Webb Board.Thank you for your fine comments. He was definitely a multi-faceted guy who did just what he wanted to do...a true free spirit, I think. There's no doubt that I will continue to find out things I didn't know about him for years! One of the things I knew for sure, though, was how much he dug Webb and the Beatnecks and his fellow fans.

We were planning to come together to the Ellington tomorrow night, but my heart is broken and his death is still so fresh I don't think I could face it. Next year for sure.
One more thing ...some of you may enjoy hearing that the last time I saw him alive he was bouncing around acting like a monkey. ...complete with sound effects. What a great gift!

I was hoping to have met Snake tomorrow - so the night will be bittersweet for sure. His infinite musical wisdom is definitely missed on this board!

I know all us 'irregulars' here think a bunch of Snake. We all sorta seem to gravitate to the same things for some strange reason. It would take 40000 psychologists 40000 years to figure out exactly why . There is a wealth of R and R experts here, but none equal to Snake. Snake was a good dude too. By the way, where did he learn all that stuff?
