Subject: End of an Era
Well, it's hard to believe that's been 2 years since Ron Rooks has left us. Now the big sell off of his vinyl collection is underway. Truly this is the end of an era. Any of you been to The Music Exchange?
Lots of vinyl for $1.00 each. Sunflower auctions.
Man o' man. I'm truly bummed. Lots of memories of the Music Exchange. My teens remember Ron and The Music Exchange. At least they got to know what a music store was all about. RIP Ron.

I believe I probably stopped by there either visiting K.C. or when I went to the art institute. Was that in Westport?

It was in Westport. The first location I was familiar with was on Westport Rd, then they moved to the bigger place on Broadway. They lost their lease and moved to the haunted house area off of 12th shortly before Ron died. That's where everything is now. Sunflower Auctions says Ron's vinyl collection consisted of 250,000 records. They bring out more boxes of LPs from storage as the sale progresses. I believe next Wed-Saturday is the last of the sale then the rest will be auctioned off.
