Looks like Webb and the 'necks will be making another swing through Missouri and up to Nebraska starting December 12th. Whoopie!

Yeah! Sounds good to me, too. Probably be an indoor show at Knucklehead's unless we have some unusually warm weather. Webb and the Beatnecks can thaw us out with some hot rock 'n' roll.

You got it, Chris!

Also, thank you for the kind thoughts you expressed for my Dad recently. I'm sorry to report that he passed away on June 29th after a few days in the hospital. He had a long, happy life but this has been a sad time around here.

Dad set up the music etc for his own memorial service, and it was really moving. There were a lot of people there, including quite a few from his generation (he was born in 1922). At the very end, just when all those tough old guys thought they had made it through the service, an unseen bugler at the back of the church played Taps. That got 'em.

We now return you to my usual light hearted postings.

Let me add my condolences too, TommyLee. Sorry to hear about your father's passing. Cool story about his service.

Take care, give Pammy a hug, and we'll see you soon, buddy.

Sorry to hear about your dad, TommyLee. Seems like we are losing loved ones right and left anymore. You have to believe that they are all in a better place, not suffering any of the things we endure here.

Maybe like the drive to KC and Lincoln in a snow storm. How about that Zoo Bar, MM?! Nice to see that added extension to the Western tour. You know the place will be packed.

Our condolences Tommy Lee. I lost my dad over 10 years ago and there's not a day goes by I don't think of him. I think I remember you telling me your dad was a Physician. Back then Doctors were a different breed of people compared to what we have today. I'm sure the world is a better place for him having been here.

Thank you all very, very much. We're doing OK but I was a little bit discombobulated yesterday.

Dr. Oscar L. "Jack" Lippard was born and raised in Anna, IL. He earned a bachelor's degree from Maryville College in Maryville, TN, and enliisted as an Ensign in the Navy where he trained as a pilot and became a flight instructor. He then served as a submariner in the Naval Reserves where he retired as a Lieutenant in 1956. He continued his studies at Temple University School of Podiatry in Philadelphia where he earned a doctorate.

Jack married Ellen ... on March 10, 1945. They moved to St. Louis where he practiced Podiatry until his retirement in 1989. in addition to his private practice he directed the Podiatry Clinic at St. Louis University Hospital from 1951 to 1956. He developed and directed the Diabetic Foot Clinic at Barnes Hospital from 1956 to 1985. He served as area president of the American Diabetic Association and was the author of many articles on podiatry and diabetes and contributed a chapter to the widely used textbook "The Diabetic Foot".

Jack was active in the arts community in St. Louis. He was a member of the Symphony Voluntreer Association and a long-time volunteer at the Repertory Theater where he served on the Backer's Board and was an "occasional actor". He was a member of the Tennessee Society, a group of St. Louisans with ties to that state. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood for 55 years, where he served as a deacon and elder. He sang in the choir and was the baritone soloist for 25 years, performing in many concerts and musicals. He also sang with the St. Louis Chamber Chorus for 20 years.

Jack loved music and theater, reading, gardening, golf, tennis and boating. Most of all, he loved his family and friends.

In addition to Ellen, Jack is survived by Tom, Jana and his grandchildren Branden and Shannon.

The main thing that wasn't mentioned in the above article is that Dad was a very funny guy. He loved to laugh and tell jokes, and he liked many of his patients a lot. Sometimes you would walk by a closed treatment room in his office and hear gales of laughter as they told bad jokes to one another.
