I was cruising down to Dad's for Father's Day with Red and listening to Acres of Suede. I asked Red to see who was the guests on songs etc. Lo and behold, my friend Richard Goodsell and Numerous Complaints Music are cited.

What did he do for you Webb? Organ work I assume, as that was before he became the Man with his Superseventeen amp.

Yes that was his main business for Hammond B3s at the time. Did one flake out during recording?

I don't remember. I'm sure I wasn't involved with that. I do remember that at the time Bobby Field, who produced that album had a coupla really cool old combo organs. Possibly Richard worked on those. There's a lot of combo organ on "Town and Country" and "Acres" as I recall. There was a very cool, early, English made (they were later Italian) Vox Continental with real wooden keys and an Acetone that sounded pretty fabulous, too. WW

After we read that credit, I realized how much organ presence there is on that album. Almost every song it seems. Gave a great fill and feel to the whole thing.

I just finished reading Al Kooper's 3rd revised 2008 edition of "Backstage Passes & Backstabbing Bastards" and though his WW contribution is only to Doo Dad, I heartily recommend it to all and sundry. What a guy! What a life!
