I've seen Webb three times in Omaha long ago and a couple more times recently at Knuckleheads in Kansas City, and there is no question that he's one of the greatest rock and rollers. And Charlie Burton, who my wife and I have seen at least 30 times over the last 30 years, is one of the greatest songwriters and performers. Finally, the show is at the Zoo, which has always brought the best blues and real rock and roll to Lincoln. In the 1970's, I remember being told to go see a band called the Morells, who played once or twice a year at the Zoo, and over the next three or four years we got to see them play many times. Lou Whitney and his band were amazing. So Webb plus Charlie plus the Zoo equals one pretty amazing evening of musical monkey business. |
