Subject: Fantastic show at The Evening Muse
Well, it was a great show at The Evening Muse in Charlotte, NC Saturday night. The starting time was a bit early (6:30) but it was refreshing to get out and drive home while it was still daylight outside. Webb and Co. were excellent as usual and the sound system and venue were fantastic. The pear cider was delicious. Bob Williams is an excellent guitarist and a breath of fresh air for the band (and I'm not trying to cast any aspersions at all...). What kind of pickups were those on the light-green Telecaster BTW ? The band played about 90 minutes and there was a decent crowd for the small venue. Herewith, the setlist for those interested (forgive me for any wrong titles or omissions) : Big Time, The Only One, Sputnik, Human Cannonball, Just Had To Laugh, Lonely For A Reason, Down On The Farm, If You're Lookin' For A Fool. Burnin' For You, She Won't Come Around, Horror Hayride, Pretty Little Lights Of Town, New Landlord, Slow Death, I Ain't Gonna Worry My Life Any More, Pretty Is As Pretty Does, Louisiana Hannah, The Rest Will Take Care Of Itself, Flat Out Get It, Tough It Out and Mississippi Honky Tonkin'. 21 songs by my count, ~ 90 minutes. No Baby Please Don't Go as an encore but maybe next time. Thanks a lot Webb, Tom, Jimmy & Bob for a wonderful show & a lot of us sure hope that you come back to Charlotte soon. Well, thanks a lot. We like to do early shows but, this one was VERY early. The promoter apologized for this explaining that there were already two other shows booked that night. He said he kinda had to sandwich us in this time but, would like to do it again around 8 PM some other time. The green guitar is a Stratocaster, not a Telecaster. I asked Bob what those pickups were yesterday, funnily enough. He didn't remember the model but, they are made by Dimarrzio(sp.) I believe they are hum cancelling. They do sound good. Thanks for comin'! WW

I totally agree. I've never heard Webb "Widler" and the band never sounded better than they did on Saturday. Bob Williams is a great addition as well. The only downer to the evening was that Jimmy was being such a crybaby and whining about everything. Just kidding - we know that its part of the show. I especially enjoyed Slow Death - that was the first time that I heard that one live and it was sweet. Hopefully Charlotte will become a regular stop on the econoline trail from now on. Thanks for coming. Next time we'll bring the kids to a 6:30 show - live and learn.
