WOW, downtown Chicago on a Friday night is a pretty amazing place- a real eye-opening experience for a country girl like me! It's been many years since I've actually been in the same place on a Friday night as so many 18-25-year-old city kids. Going home from HOB the LOOP was alive with young people out having a good time, and I found it fascinating. Would have loved to just sit on a bench somewhere and absorb it all.
The band was great, as always, although I was helping with the merchandise, and HOB couldn't let me set up in the actual room, but just outside the door, so I could watch from the doorway and they had a couple tv's set up showing the stage action too. But I caught enough to know it was going really well, and saw alot of people that show up at Fitgeralds too.
Mary, it was just super visiting with you, and also Hal & Sue, (the two pilots from Rockford, who didn't know about Webb, but were in the right place at the right time)- very nice to meet you. The staff was excellent, and a great job from the two security guys who knew their stuff. It was really an enlightening evening of people-watching, for an introvert like myself.
I hope everyone made it home okay. For myself, I made it home at about 5am, and needless to say, Saturday was pretty laid back.
