"We want to play music with a Southern connection," said David Norwood, entertainment chairman of the festival.

Blackland, a Southern rock band from the Shoals, and Subject to Change, from Decatur, will take the stage Saturday. Out-of-town entertainment includes Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks, a Nashville-based band that the San Francisco Chronicle described as "a kind of Tom Petty for the trailer set."

"It's a good kind of rockabilly, good-time sound," said Norwood, who's also general manager of the predominately Southern music station WALW 98.3 FM in Moulton. "The music is clever; (Wilder is) humorous. He puts on a good show."

When Norwood booked Pure Prairie League, a '70s act that recorded the hit "Amie," he had the 40-and-older crowd in mind. "That's what we hope draws the crowd," he said.

Well, actually for me, I would attend for WW and the Beatnecks. Pure Prairie League would be one of those "You had to be there bands". Sort of like the "Mamas and the Pappas" of an earlier thread. Music is a fluid art form. Not all are timeless. I shave and the true test is whether I can listen to 45 minutes of one artist/band at one time. Try it. It is surprising who makes the cut.
