2007 release CD from France, on Dixie Frog. At the risk of sounding like an uninformed complete DA (my best impression of all), what's the story/source concert(s) of this?

Hey, Astro Man - here's the largely untold story! Dixie Frog released the music from the "Born To Be Wilder" CD in France under an alternate title and with completely different artwork - a really deluxe, 8 panel digipak including some never-seen-before photos! They did a great job on it, and that it's really worth having for fans and collectors, IMHO.

BTW Tom, I read someone on I believe Amazon saying it's a bootleg, but looking at the Dixie Frog roster, I think that is just b.s. speculation from an airhedd. I'll likely pick it up very soon. Thanx again for the heddzup.

You're welcome! My advice would be to make sure that it has the deluxe 8-panel digipak. I doubt that bootlegs (if they exist) would have this relatively expensive packaging.

Yep, I thought the same. People sometimes scream 'bootleg' when they're really clueless. Too easy these days to research it before declaring it illegit.

I have one of these (it's a Digipak as Tom stated), but I got it many years ago.

Amazon isn't very discriminating when it comes to details like record label or the exact version of a release. For instance, many CDs have definite quality differences between companies and release dates. Amazon just bunches all the versions together. For instance, I was looking for Underwater Moonlight by the Soft Boys and learned that some versions sound a lot worse than others. On Amazon, I had no idea which version I would get and no seller would reply to my questions.

The Discogs website had a lot more info and I was able to buy the correct edition (on Yep Rock) there. There were 19 different versions!

Their listing for "It's Live Time!" is, of course, more straightforward and confirms the label as Dixie Frog catalog number DFGCD 8621 with the correct 2007 release date. No other versions with that title.

Discogs is a nice, useful resource.
