Extract from Warner E Hodges Webb Site Today (Aug 1st 2017)
"So, I'll be hitting the road in October in Europe as part of a special package also featuring Eric Ambel and Webb Wilder. For those of you who don't know the names, checkout thttp://ericambel.com/,https://www.facebook.com/roscoenyc/,https://www.webbwilder.com/Two great artists in their own rights and I'll be playing guitar with each of them as well as performing my own set every night. We have shows booked in the U.K., The Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. A full list will be published here next week."

This is a must see for any UK Webb Heads. (You will already be familiar with Messrs Hodges and Ambel)

Now got my tickets for the UK. Evesham, Leicester & Sheffield. Really looking forward to welcoming all these outstanding artists to Blighty. I've seen them all before but this looks like a killer bill! I hope these shows are well attended to encourage more visits. Will there be swag?

Probably just CDs but, we will see. Might have some other gee-gaws. No shirts, though, sadly. Look forward to seeing you and the Missus! WW

Eric Ambel is a tip-top guitarist, writer and producer, also a very funny guy. Notably influenced by Neil Young. Loves to talk. No ego worth mentioning. He's only made a few records but they are well worth having. Live, you'll swoon over his guitar tone.
Warner Hodges is the guitarist from Jason and the Scorchers, a very influential band fronted by our friend Jason Ringenberg. You should know those guys. Pioneers of country-punk-whatever, they are actually in Webb's league musically, and that's the highest compliment I can give. Long-time FOW (Friends of Webb). He's also in Dan Baird & Original Sin (Dan from the Georgia Satellites). Friendly guy. His playing has both substance and flash-watch out when he starts slinging the guitar around his back!
Webb, of course, is the central figure here, but I wanted you to know more about the other guys. My friend, you're going to see some very, very special shows.

Last night the three Aces tour kicked of in Evesham, England. The show was really good overall but I'll concentrate on WW for this post.Webb is doing a trio set with an english rhythmn section (John Powney drms & Andy Dye Bs)
The set list was
Mississippi Honky Tonking,
Devils right hand,
If it aint broke,
Poolside,
It takes time,
Cannonball,
Hitting where it hurts,
Lousiana Hannah.
Tough it out.
The british rhythmn section did well, esp the drummer. They had had minimal rehearsal time and Webb had also had very little sleep. British public transport failures didn't make it any easier.
Webb was well received and the 89 UK Georgia Satellites tour,( and especially the legendary appearence at the Breedon Bar ) was mentioned several times by people who were there. (It seems a thousand people were at that show and remember it well). The show (featuring Eric Ambel and Warner E Hodges) overall went on till about midnight and is going to improve as the players get to know one another better. This show is a must see.

I wrote this review for the Aussie HQ page, but it wouldn't let me post it.

Tez, Please feel free to cut and paste if interested.

Note to Tommy Lee; It was a treat. The crowd last night was larger than the first night but it had not sold out. Everyone was appreciative and showed respect but I wish there had been a bigger turn out. They have been small venues and these guys are all putting themselves out. Its a tough time for live music in England. Blues/live music venues are struggling and if we cannot turn out for a bill of this calibre I'm worried. Homemade Sin are touring soon (without Dan Baird) I hope they get bigger crowds. We cannot blame you guys for not touring if the economics do not work.

Anyway on to the review.

G'day WWAHQ,
Last night was my second chance to see the 3 Aces British Tour. The Musician in Leicester is a new venue to me and I shall return. Lovely place.

As before I'll focus on the WW contribution. ( although Eric 'Roscoe' Ambel and Warner E Hodges are truly wonderful.)
A much more polished and together show tonight from WW and the British rhythmn section. The band/s is/are gelling well and even though they had driven hundreds of miles from Scotland the energy level was high.(The sound was better than Evesham as well.)
Webbs voice was strong and his guitar playing was a revelation to my talented guitarist friend who has never seen him live before! I suppose seasoned touring Artistes like WW regard hopping across Blighty as a 'local' run given their USA sized usual touring schedules. Webb did remark on how he had seen lots of sheep!
Set List
Mississippi honky tonkin'
Devils right hand
If it aint broke
Poolside
It takes time
Cannonball
Hitting where it hurts
Tought it out (with Warner on bass)
Webb left then to cries for an encore. (Not possible as there are 3 headliners)

Webb later joined Warner and Roscoe at the end of the show to sing lead in a beautiful version of Tom Pettys' 'Mary Janes' last Dance' The death of Tom Petty has been felt by everyone at these shows.

The camardrie between the 3 Aces really adds to the atmosphere and the show goes from strength to strength. I say again, this is a must see tour. I cannot wait for Sheffield where the British leg ends.

To paraphrase TLOTFGM Real music is out there, real people are making it and REAL PEOPLE ARE ENJOYING IT, Hell Yeah!!

Subject: Webb Wilder in the UK. Hurrah! (Final update)
The final show in the British Leg of the 3 Aces Tour was a stormer. Best I've seen in a long while. Great Venue, sound, Pizza and crowd.
Roscoe and Warner were superb but again I'll focus on WW for this review. Well, as we say in the UK, He smashed it! Despite have an injured ankle and being on pain killers following a fall down some steps in London, WW was in tremendous form. The discerning and appreciative crowd were really delighted he was back with an electric set following the excellent acoustic show here last year.
The sound was very good at last and the subtlety and power of WWs guitar work was there for all to see.
Set list was the same as Leicester but everything seemed to be 1/2 a notch tighter and the enthusiasm of the players spread through the room to leave everyone smiling.Just a magical evening. Thanks to all involved in putting this show on the road. Our Continental chums will be luxurating to this event now. I do hope my buddies on the other side of the Pond get the opportunity to see the 3 Aces sometime soon.

Happy Trails!

Note to Webb. Definition of Prial!
noun
(in card games) a set of three cards of the same denomination.

Holy crumbs, I am just getting caught up with a few things, and this is the first I've heard of the foot incident. Webb, hope you're OK buddy!
